The Crab-Eating Fox
Introducing the Crab-Eating Fox, quiver in your shells!
This small furry creature has been around in South America for approximately 3.1 million years, and presumably has eaten a lot of crabs in its time.
It is a greyish-brown nocturnal animal and spends its nights prowling for crabs, insects and small mammals to eat.
These animals pair for life and partners will hunt together, although at some times through the year they might pair up with other couples.
They get their name from the way they stalk mudflats during the wet season, hunting for crabs.
Thankfully, these animals are very adaptable and are currently not considered in danger of extinction. But who knows, a lot can change in a lifetime!
