Introducing Gene Hunt, the best name in Science
During our research on Ostracoda, which are a large grouping of small crustaceans found throughout fossil history, we stumbled on this wonderful name.
Paleobiology is a relatively new field of research that uses geological methods to examine the life sciences. Paleobiologists often use cutting edge technology to analyse the DNA and RNA make-up of fossil remains to help build evolutionary trees looking back into the deep past.
We thought it was only fitting to share this amazing scientific* discovery with the world.
Gene is the Department Chair, and Curator of Ostracoda and Paleobiology at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural history. He has an extensive publication history, many of which are very interesting and include gripping titles such as: Taxonomy of Ostracods from the Pirabas Formation (Upper Oligocene to Lower Miocene), Eastern Amazonia (Para State, Brazil)
We hope it brightens up your Wednesday!
